Why you should stay in Colombiers.

Canal du Midi. There are often jousting competitions on the water, during the summer months.

When you visit Colombiers, you will find a pretty network of old streets in the village which nestles in a curve in the Canal du Midi. A port was built here, on the Canal du Midi, in 1989 and there are many boat hire companies from which to choose, if you fancy a relaxing cruise along the canal.
A good company to choose from is Rive de France.

The area is rich in lovely typical southern villages. The old town centres, the markets, cafes and restaurants make these communities lively and welcoming. The beautiful tree-lined Canal du Midi which links the Atlantic with the Mediterranean has miles of flat walks along the shady tow paths.

There is a main centre where there is what I can only describe as "giant steps", in the middle of a beautiful tiny square where you can find multiple restaurants. One of my favourites is a pizza place called the Pom' Canelle. Everyone there is so friendly and you get a darn good pizza! You can sit outside the restaurant, right next to the Canal. Just be sure not to have one too many drinks and end up falling into the water behind you, trust me, it's happened before.

Colombiers is a great place to go if you're in search for some peace and quiet, I don't think I've ever been there whilst it's been noisy, unless there was some sort of event going on, like the Fête de la Musique for example.

I used to go there loads with my grandad, we used to cross the little bridge over the canal and go for a walk alongside it, admiring all of the boats and even talking to some of the boat owners. It's a really great day out or destination for your holiday, I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

If you're looking for something a bit more lively in the evenings than Colombiers, Béziers is only a few minutes down the road.

We've got quite some properties here in Colombiers, including some in a beautiful residence. If you're interested, click HERE and have a look for yourself.
