Esprit Plage - Vendres-Plage.

Hiya!

So in the last blog post I spoke about Sanders dad coming to stay for a week, one of the many things that we did with him was go to the beach. I've been to a lot of beaches in the South of France, most likely every single one; so when everyone asked me which one we should go to, I was kind of speechless because that really depends on what you're looking for. They just wanted to relax on the sand and splash about in the sea, so we went to Vendres-Plage.

We parked the car and had to walk along a boardwalk path, through loads of vegetation to even get close to the beach. The walk there is stunning though, the bushes are so thick you feel like you're walking through the prettiest swamp you've ever seen in your life, it feels really magical.

Once you arrive at the beach, there's a massive sign advertising the beach bar on this part - Esprit Plage. The bar is great, one of the better ones I've seen in this region. A lot of places feel a bit too beachy for my liking, it feels like you're not really "off" the beach when you set foot in it, but Esprit Plage is completely different.

As you walk in, you're greeted by a bar area with high, nice quality tables. The bar is to the side of this and is fully stocked. The restaurant area is seperated from the bar area by clear curtains, which really adds to the decor of the place. If you fancy sitting in some comfortable chairs but still have your feet in the sand, then you can do just that thanks to the seating areas on the sand, all seperate so you feel you have some privacy. Then come the sunbeds, there are a few rows of them on the sand, in the sun. You have to rent them of course but it's definitely worth it.
The one thing I usually hate in beach bars is the toilets, they're grubby and gross and they have sand everywhere (ok, slight exageration but I feel very strongly about clean toilets). But in Esprit Plage, goodness me, it feels like you're peeing in a 5 star restaurant! Everything is beautifully decorated and SO CLEAN! Now of course there's some sand here and there, but that's unavoidable when you're in a bar on the beach.

All in all, Esprit Plage is a great little bar to go to, and is definitely worth it!
